Postpartum Doula

Bringing your baby home is one of the most important and exciting moments of new parenthood. It can also feel overwhelming and uncertain as you navigate the physical and emotional recovery from childbirth, sleep deprivation and adjustment to life with a newborn.  A Postpartum Doula will be by your side to help ease your transition into parenthood, providing gentle guidance and support so you feel prepared and confident as you welcome your new baby home.

Postpartum Doula support is personalized to meet the needs of your family and can include:

  • 1-2 in-home prenatal visits (for support booked prior to baby's arrival)

  • Unlimited phone, text and email support

  • Discussion of postpartum options and assistance with creating a postpartum plan

  • Visit to home, birth centre or hospital immediately following baby's birth to assist with infant bonding and first feedings

  • Breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or pumping guidance and support

  • Care and support of the mother through postpartum healing

  • Gentle guidance for your partner/family in how to best support you

  • Newborn care including diapering, burping, bathing, soothing and sleep support

  • Care of multiples (twins or triplets)

  • Care of older children and assistance with sibling adjustment

  • Light housekeeping and meal preparation

  • Access to community resources and referrals as needed

  • Evidence-based information and access to current best practice research

*It's never too late to book postpartum doula support. If you have an older baby and need some sleep, a break or just an extra set of hands, your doula will be there!
